Recycling requires little energy or preparation; it's easy and benefits the environment.
Please clean and rinse all metal, glass and plastic containers. DO NOT include plastic caps or lids.

 

  PAPER: Separate into 4 piles

 1: Newspaper, including inserts, brown paper grocery bags, telephone books
 2: Magazines, catalogs, discarded "Junk Mail", envelopes, flyers.
 3: Office Paper: white and colored , computer, writing, typing, and notebook paper

 4: Boxboard such as cereal boxes, tissue boxes & Cardboard - flattened and/or cut down   

 How to prepare your paper: Place newspapers inpaper grocery bags if possible:

DO NOT Include:

·   waxed or soiled paper products

·   napkins, paper towels and disposable plates

·   beverage boxes or cartons

·   plastic bags

 

PLASTICS: Separate into 3 piles

   Includes all plastic household bottles containing the #1 or #2 symbols on the bottom of the container: 

 1.  clear water and juice bottles (#1)     

 2.  milk jugs (#2)
 3.  cleaning and laundry roduct containers, shampoo bottles #2
  How to prepare your plastics:

REMOVE and DISCARD caps and lids.  Rinse container and flatten it.     

DO NOT Include:

·   #3 thru #7 plastics or any other plastics

·   Plastic motor oil containers – unless they are very clean.

 

METALS: 

 GLASS

 1: "tin" cans, metal lids from jars

 All CLEAR & COLORED food and beverage containers
 2: aluminum cans, foil, pie plates, etc.  
 How to prepare your metals:

Rinse containers. You do not have to remove labels.

 DO NOT Include: cans used for paints

 How to prepare your glass:

Remove lids and rinse container clean.

    You do not have to remove labels.

 DO NOT Include:

·   bottle caps or lids: NO PLASTIC OR METAL

·   Mirrors, glass dishes or ceramics

·   window or plate glass

·   light bulbs

 

Styrofoam/Polystyrene

·   clean cups, egg cartons, & clam shells

·   rigid packing materials & packing "peanuts." Please bag the packing peanuts separately.

   How to prepare your containers:

 Discard the plastic lids and rinse the containers.

 DO NOT include foam insulation

PLUS - At the Collection Center in Fremont during business hours…

Monday  9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.    Thursday 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.    Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

1.     Pop Cans & Bottles - RNC will accept your cans and bottles as a donation towards our recycling program.

2.   Household Trash - For a fee of $3 per bag (33 gallon), you can drop off your regular trash at the Fremont center. 

DO NOT include: liquids or electronics; metal or hazardous waste materials (paint, motor oil, or other solvents)

3.   Electronics - Computers, microwaves, televisions, radios, etc. - anything that operates with a plug or battery for $0.30/pound.

4.   Household Batteries & Cell Phones - Accepted free of charge.

6.  Fluorescent Light Bulbs - Two and four-foot bulbs and compact flourescent bulbs (CFLs) for a fee of $0.75/bulb.
