Recycling for Newaygo County (RNC) is an independent non-profit organization, serving the residents of Newaygo County. RNC's mission is "to establish and coordinate a recycling collection program, and to support the development and marketing of recycled products, enhancing the environment and beauty of Newaygo County." RNC is governed by a board of directors with presiding officers and a set of bylaws. RNC is led by an executive director, Bob Pinder. Our operation includes a collection/processing center in Fremont, and seven drop-off sites in Croton, Fremont, Garfield Township, Grant, Hesperia, Holton, Newaygo and White Cloud. Our primary goal is to form a comprehensive, non-profit recycling organization that is viable and sustainable. We are working to follow the 3C's -- making recycling as comprehensive, convenient and cost effective as possible. Another goal is to support the local development and marketing of recycled products. We will collaborate with individuals and businesses, especially working to provide recycled materials to be processed locally. Finally, but perhaps most importantly, we are intentional about educating our youth and adults about the wise use and conservation of resources, including the recovery of recycled materials. We provide pertinent informational materials and give classroom and civic group presentations and tours of our facility. We believe that we can work with the residents "to enhance the environment and beauty of Newaygo County," by recycling some of their household waste. We believe that we can make a difference! -Bob Pinder, executive director |
